Rekha P Lahoti
Rekha P Lahoti is the Co-founder and Director of Kalakriti Art Gallery, one of the leading contemporary art galleries in the country.
Rekha Lahoti has a passion for art that stems from her childhood. She grew up in a family of artists and was exposed to various forms of art from an early age. She studied fine arts and later pursued a diploma in music. She is actively involved in promoting art education and awareness among the public. She is not only an art patron but has accomplished her position as a renowned Gallerist.
Under her vision, Kalakriti Art Gallery has been one of the leading galleries in promoting contemporary South Asian art practices. Showcasing contemporary art from India and the sub-continent. A space for artistic expression and dialogue. The gallery has participated in several national and international art fairs and biennales.
Rekha Lahoti has also been a part of FICCI FLO since 2003, as a member of the Hyderabad chapter. She has held various leadership positions in the organization, such as chairperson of the art and culture committee, co-chairperson of the national art and culture committee. As a leader of FICCI FLO, Rekha Lahoti has initiated and organized several events and programs related to art and culture, such as exhibitions, workshops, seminars, webinars, panel discussions, book launches, film screenings, and cultural tours. She hopes to continue her journey of discovering, collecting, and sharing art with the world.
She is also the trustee of Krishnakriti Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes art and culture through various initiatives such as festivals, workshops, scholarships, and publications and also trustee of Franco Indian Educational Trust.
Prshant K Lahoti
In year 2002, Prshant ventured out into the hitherto unexplored territory of Art. In a span of 20 years, the business has expanded to a contemporary art gallery, an emerging art gallery, an art and culture space with alfresco dining featuring contemporary cuisine, a virtual art agora with affordable art available as premium lifestyle accessories, residency Program, a manufacturing unit with design and production services for customized gifting solutions and a non-profit foundation that is engaged in promotion of art and culture.
Prshant was born in Hyderabad, a city with a rich cultural heritage and history. He grew up surrounded by trees and deodis (old mansions) that inspired his love for art and heritage. He did his schooling at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet. He is a graduate in Engineering and a postgraduate in Business administration.
His passion resulted in establishing an Archive which is now one of the largest private collections of antique rare maps and rare photographs of Indian Subcontinent.
Lahoti’s, a traditional business family came to the erstwhile Hyderabad state about 160-170 years back from Rajasthan and adopted this area as their Janma Bhoomi and Karma Bhoomi.
The family has been involved in many philanthropy works and involved in establishing and managing many educational and charitable institutions across the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
He is the managing trustee of Krishnakriti Foundation & Franco Indian Educational Trust; trustee of his family trusts the Rai Saheb Pannalal Hiralal Lahoti Trust & also of Rajasthani Samaj Seva Trust.
He is also a member of several prestigious organizations such as FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry), charter member of TiE, Hyderabad, founding member and chair of American India Foundation. He is also a spouse member of Young Presidents Organisation.
Prshant Lahoti’s contribution to the Indian art scene has been recognized by various institutions. In 2012, he was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettre (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French government for his efforts in promoting cultural ties between France and India.
